Every football fan has a greatest-ever World Cup XI in their head, and every one of them is different. 38-0 turns that argument into a game: draft eleven players from real World Cup squads, then find out whether your team can get through a 38-match season without dropping a point.

Each round starts with the draw. The roll lands on a real nation and a real tournament — Argentina 2022, Spain 2002 — and you pick one player from that squad. There is no picking from everyone at once; you take what history hands you and make the best of it.

Behind the draw sits an archive of 5,557 players from both the men's and women's World Cups, so Messi, Marta, Zidane, and Rapinoe are all in play. Eleven rounds fill a starting XI on the pitch, one position at a time.

Every pick is on the clock: 18 seconds to scan the squad and commit. That short window keeps the game quick and stops a draft from turning into a spreadsheet exercise.

Once the XI is set, it plays a 38-match season. One shot, no redraft. The name is the target: a perfect 38-0 record. Most drafts will fall short, and the question every run answers is how close you got.
